In a landmark event underscoring the enduring legacy of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle, the Chegutu District chapter of the Children of Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association (CZLWVA) has successfully elected a dynamic new executive.
This pivotal election aligns the association with the nation’s Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), reinforcing its commitment to socio-economic transformation and the empowerment of war veterans’ descendants.
Chairperson Richard Kawazi emphasized the association’s renewed focus: “Our mandate is clear—to uphold the legacy of our liberation heroes by actively participating in nation-building efforts.
Through strategic social development projects, we aim to uplift our members and the broader community.
National Spokesperson Comrade Lenin Samhembere highlighted the association’s strategic objectives We are focusing on economic empowerment. By aligning our projects with national development plans, we ensure that our members are not left behind in Zimbabwe’s journey towards prosperity.
Chairperson Kawazi further elaborated on the association’s plans:
“We are exploring partnerships with government agencies and private sector stakeholders to finance our projects. Financial sustainability is key to the long-term success of our initiatives.
Comrade Samhembere emphasized the importance of organizational efficiency:
Effective administration will be the backbone of our operations. We are implementing systems to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to our members’ needs.
The Chegutu District CZLWVA’s proactive stance resonates with national efforts to recognize and integrate the contributions of war veterans’ families into Zimbabwe’s development narrative.
